the show snmp mib ifmib ifindex EXEC mode command allows you to display the Interfaces MIB ifIndex values directly on your system without an NMS; the show snmp mib EXEC mode command allows you to display a list of MIB module identifiers registered directly on your system with an NMS. The snmp ifmib ifalias long command allows you to specify a description for interfaces or subinterfaces of up to 256 characters in length. Prior to the introduction of this command, ifAlias descriptions for SNMP management were limited to 64 characters.
